BTW, I forgot to ask.
Has the leaky roof been fixed, as this was supposedly the problem for the clock mechanism stopping?

And I must admit it does look a little weathered in this pic.

Nice to see the clock looking good although what made me laugh in other posts was the "60th anniversary of the NHS" i bet they will bang on about bevan bring the NHS but in fact it was the miners that really started the NHS but they wont get the proper respect they deserve.

MYSTERY What happened to the old mechanical movement when the clock was repaired the last time I know that a new electric movement was installed but why didn't the disposal of the old movement show up in the council audit was it refurbished and installed somewhere else or sold for scrap a bit of a mystery really but it still should have shown up in the audit.

I really think that the Town Clock acts as a metaphor for the state of the town, I mean if it isn't kept in decent working order what hope does our town have on other social issues.
