I think you must be referring to "Jesmond Dene" dog track owned by Charlie HiLL, bus proprietor, and named for his wife. It was situated closer to what we knew as the Red Ground and some distance away from Cefn Golau. The entrance was actually on Queen St. There was an earlier dog track situated on the Recreation ground but I think that closed early in the war.Emrys.

Hello John, I spoke to an old friend today that told Me that, Many Many years ago, He bought a Maroon or red 500 BSA off Your Father, He said it had been standing in the garden for a long time, and that Your father only really used it to go fishing, and that He Had to stop using it because One of Your younger brothers had tampered with it, and stopped it from going .. .. .. !!

Hi Fredd,
how sweet the memories are of that red , heavy A7.500 BSA, I remember coming home on leave when I was in the army , and borowing the bike, which was twice as heavy as me, and go for a spin down the country llangorse lake was a favouite spot of mine , and on the way back I used to call into the coach and horses in llanguidir (scuse the spelling) my dutch is much better than my english,
that old bike was good as gold , started first kick, and was pretty fast too,
as for the brother who knakered it , no Idea, could have been any of three who were into bikes , and still are , with success I may add
cheers for the memories anyway
have a great summer,
dutchjohn
