Hello everyone, I live in Liverpool, but am collecting a nationwide (and worldwide) catalogue of monkey puzzle trees - a tree that both fascinates and interests me, and always has.
You can see my 'collection' here - http://monkeypuzzletrees.wordpress.com - they are catalogued by postcode and I have over 300 now.
My friend spotted a monkey puzzle on the horizon from the Heads of the Valleys Road, which he then traced to Dukestown cemetery using Google Earth, which we featured on the blog. But when we looked at the photos on your forum here, we thought that in fact it looks like there are two trees in the cemetery. Can anyone local confirm this is the case please? Thanks in advance.
Also, if you'd like to submit any other monkeys in your area, we would be pleased to feature them on the blog.
Greetings from Liverpool, and best wishes from Sarah

Hello keanjo, that's great to hear... yes they can live for many years, many of the mature ones we see now were planted in the 1850s and 1860s so are a good 150 years old.
If you would like to send me a photo I'd be happy to feature your tree on the blog? Thanks.
Bw, Sarah

pierre, what happened to our old monkey puzzle tree? I'm sure there is a post on here about it but I can't find it.

There is another one in better condition just out of picture to the right of the portacabins at the top of the old section.

Thank you Pierre for the photo - and for confirmation there are two in the cemetery. Will happily feature any others on the blog if you post them here, or email to me. Thanks.
