We have several large flower pots we'd like to plant for next season. What sort of plants would be suitable for these pots and would flower for a long time?

Hi MkerchyO5, you can't go wrong with petunias and begonias. Both can be bought from Morrison's and are great value, they have never let me down, good luck.

Fuschias and geraniums make a nice display and for the late summer try Korean chrysanthemums which can withstand a bit of frost

I would like to suggest Geraniums too. I love them because they are so long lasting. With a bit of dead heading and the occasional feed mine lasts until the first frosts arrive.
Also they tolerate a dry spell well in pots or borders.
And best of all the pesky slugs don't like them lol.
Available to buy in morrisons, b&m, anywhere really.

I have a large pot made up with 3 red geraniums in the center and 4 trailing red geraniums around the edge. The trailers are super value, they produce heaps of flowers and can nearly cover the pot by mid summer.
I have another one with a green Torbay palm(bought from lidl 3.99)in the centre and 3 red geraniums around it. You can fill in some of the gaps with ivy from the garden if you have it.
After potting up I cover the bare soil with stones to help keep the moisture in.
Happy gardening MKerchey05

Thanks to everyone, I've lots of choices now. I have another question. My grandson bought, (what looks like), a small palm tree from Morrisons a while back. It now has a few black spots on it, any ideas? He's lost the label so I can't tell you the name of the plant, it has has long thin dark green leaves.
