I seem to recall that he was a keen member of the "Cong".
As a schoolboy I remember him there but I did not know of his football.
He lived down The Tip, possibly in Southend

There was a Frank Gray who was a member of Cong chapel, he was a very pious man, and lived in high street. The other Mr Gray did live in Southend, he had two sons, Michael and John, they were members of English Wesleyan in Vale Terr. Unfortunately neither played pro football. Sorry I wasn't much help.

When I was in the Georgetown infant school in the late 1930's I sat with a boy named Donald Gray he often spoke about his uncle being goal keeper for Wales, meant nothing to me then.He left to live in Porthcawl about 1940 as I remember. There was a Mr Gray at that time who was the kid catcher a tall gently man brother to Miss Gray entrance teacher at Georgetown.Another Mr Gray of similar built worked as a clerk at TIC Offices . Both as I recall were devout chapel men.
