Had lunch out today, roast beef dinner which was beautiful. But I did ask for mint sauce and was surprised when asked "but you're having beef?", Which I replied " I know". I was given a serving of mint sauce which only improved the meal. Now THE big question, do you have mint sauce with a cooked dinner or just with lamb?.

It's a bit like having Yorkshire puddings only with a roast beef dinner. Personally I put Yorkshires with any roast dinner even with a vegetarian nut roast. If you like it - have it! Never mind the food police.

Go to a "posh" place and ask for tomato sauce. Always makes me smile with the look on their face :-)

Do you think cooked Sunday dinner is going to be a thing of the past? Not a lot of youngsters like it unfortunately.

Sadly, given our immigration policy I think the title "traditional cooked dinner" will be outlawed by political correctness.

I think we Welsh call it a "cooked dinner", everywhere else (and if you think you're posh) it's called a "Sunday Roast" or "gravy dinner" and I like mint sauce on chips too

Should also add I only eat beef or chicken with a "Sunday, roast or gravy dinner". Who would of thought that potatoes, vegetables, meat, gravy, stuffing and mint sauce can provide so much enjoyment?.
